Managing Contacts

1. Contact Sources

Contacts can be added to your CRM in several ways:

  • Form Submissions - Automatically captured when visitors submit your forms
  • Manual Entry - Add individual contacts via the "Add Contact" button
  • CSV Import - Bulk import from spreadsheets

2. Importing Contacts via CSV

  1. Go to Contacts → Import
  2. Prepare your CSV file with columns: name, email, phone
  3. Upload the file and map columns
  4. Review and confirm import

3. Using Tags

Tags help you organize and segment your contacts:

  • Click on any contact to open their detail view
  • Use the tag input to add or remove tags
  • Tags are color-coded for easy identification
  • Filter contacts by tag in the main list view

Pro tip: Use consistent tag naming like "lead-hot", "customer", "newsletter" to make filtering easier.

4. Searching and Filtering

Find contacts quickly with these features:

  • Search - Type name or email to search
  • Date filter - Filter by when contact was added
  • Source filter - Filter by which form captured the lead
  • Tag filter - Show only contacts with specific tags

5. GDPR Compliance

SimpleFormCRM helps you stay GDPR compliant:

  • Consent tracking - Forms can include consent checkboxes
  • Data export - Export a contact's data from their detail page
  • Right to delete - Delete contacts and all associated data
  • Unsubscribe - Contacts can opt out via email links
